Summary
To switch to a different branch in GitHub Desktop, first click the middle header that says Current Branch. Then, select the branch you want to switch to from the list that appears.
Details
If you have changes on your current branch that haven’t been committed yet, you may be prompted to select whether you want to leave your changes on your current branch or bring them over to the branch you’re switching to.
